So you would like to become a Master Gardener. Here are the
requirements:
Write an eligibility test comprised of basic gardening questions.
Be interviewed to learn more about the program and its expectations.
Sign a contract agreeing to the following: to complete
the required study course(s) or pursue self-directed study and take the exam
by the end of the second year of involvement; and to provide a minimum of 20 hours of advice (to the public in various ways)
and 10 hours of non-advice (administrative and attendance at meetings) per
year of involvement in the Master Gardener program.
Course Exemption: Certain educational qualifications received in the horticultural field within
the
previous two years or obtaining 70% on an exemption test MAY exempt individuals from
The Horticulturist series of courses.
Testing for new members for the Sarnia-Lambton group usually takes place in August with
